The Rogue Decamps . . .

is a cascade of related adventures, one situation leading to another, all involving a smart-mouth, know-it-all cat. It is not a quest. It is a screwball romp, with short-term goals, many of which will eventually be tied together in various ways. I have no all-inclusive crisis to be resolved, although the central struggle is an assassination plot against Elizabeth I. Sly’s motivation is to live life fully and, if possible, to do some good in the world (as he defines it).
